Today is Natasha's very first Easter, and we've had a really long day. Great but exhausting. Around noon we headed to my in-laws' house (who live a 40-minute drive from here) and had a dinner and a get-together with Matthew's family. Initially we weren't sure how Natasha would react among many new faces, or faces she hasn't seen in a while as she's going through a mini stranger anxiety, but she was actually really good. She laughed, she smiled, she allowed people to hold her and coo at her. She even ate a few forkfuls of mashed potatoes that her Grandma (Matthew's mom) offered her. The only downside of taking Natasha places is that her routine gets messed up and she overtires herself. She has a very difficult time falling asleep in a foreign place and so today between noon and 8:30pm she only took one, ten-minute nap. Poor baby. In fact, she was so tired that for her 5pm and 8pm feedings she drank 5oz bottles of formula! The poor child was probably so tired she couldn't care less what she was eating! But regardless, she is now falling asleep and that's good.
Aside from that, she received some cute gifts: a pink Easter bunny, a lady-bug outfit, many chocolates, and more. But the best part was a little Easter basket with delicious goodies! The basket was earlier taken to the Church and blessed and so the items in it are considered holy. Salt, holy water, bread, dyed eggs, kielbasa, chocolate eggs, and especially for Natasha - 2 jars of baby food! She will eat them tomorrow.
Hope everyone else had a happy Easter or a happy Passover!
