A couple days ago Natasha surprised us with one of her infamous diaper explosions. After breakfast, I put her down for her morning nap, before which she normally does a No.2. I would then change her and put her down again, and she would fall sleep. Nothing was different that morning, and when I heard her whine in the nursery, Matthew and I headed there to inspect what was going on. Of course the room had a strong dirty diaper smell, so we were going to change her. But then Matthew quickly noticed that something wasn't right. It wasn't just Natasha's diaper that was dirty, but half her crib sheet, her clothes, the bumper pads, and Natasha's fingers were covered in poo. Ewww!! Natasha's size 3 Pampers totally leaked! The stuff was everywhere... it was horrible!
We quickly started cleaning off Natasha's fingers before she could place them in her mouth. Then, it was a challenge to figure out how to pull off her pajama top without getting the stuff in her hair. Accomplished. We then used numerous wipes to wipe off parts of her elbows and body. Once she was somewhat clean, I put her on the changing table and tried to wipe her off as much as possible. In the meantime, Matthew pulled off her crib sheet and washed it in the bathtub (I have to give him credit for this, he is such a good hubby in situations like this!), and then he did his best to also wipe and wash off the bumper pads. Once I wiped Natasha, I took her to the bathroom sink, and washed her with soap until there were no traces of poo left on her.
After all this, Matthew helped me change the crib sheet to a fresh one. Oh, and Natasha's yellow pajamas went into the trash can. I just didn't see a point in scrubbing poo off of pajamas where she has twenty different ones she can use. Phew. Needless to say, we were pretty exhausted after all this.
And then yesterday Natasha threw us another surprise. In the afternoon we were swimming in our indoor pool downstairs, and when we came home, we decided to give Natasha a bath right off to wash all the chlorine. Anyway, the water in the tub was too hot and Matthew was adjusting it while I brought (naked) Natasha into the bathroom. I put her on the bathroom carpet for a mere second, and of course in that second, she decided to go. Not poo this time. Our clean bathroom carpet had a big yellow stain! Yuck. It needs to be washed too now. Ugh.................................!!!
